This Saturday, April 6, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM the gallery will be featuring art by Eduardo Brittingham. The show is open to the public and suitable for all ages. We look forward to seeing you there!
Bo de Peña is a staple at the gallery. Be on the lookout for him throughout the year as his shows are always entertaining and lively! Here are some images from last year's holiday performance.
Last night the exhibit A Balance of Whimsey and Glamour opened. The exhibit featured paintings by Laredo's youth who ranged in ages from 4 years to 15. Their instructors are Margarita (YuYu) Molano and Daniela Sada Paz Dominguez.
The exhibit will be on going through the month and for those who missed it yesterday, there is a chance to catch the work at today's poetry slam.
On September 23, we kicked off our annual photography exhibit 'fotoseptiembre'. This year we feature photographers, Jaque Geissler and Rafael Garcia. Mrs. Geissler passed away earlier this year and her family submitted her life's work and experiences on her behalf while Mr. Garcia's pieces are abstract and metaphoric. Both artists' works are meant to compliment each other and are integral to the overall experience as one goes through the exhibit. The Human Condition Exhibit will be on display at the Gallery until October 23. Those who missed the opening are encouraged to stop by this Friday, October 2, during the city's monthly caminarte.
This past Wednesday, the Gallery hosted a fundraiser for the artist Ricardo Holguin to continue his career back in Boston, MA. Close friends, family, and now friends, joined him in this night filled with laughs, tears, and musical experiences no one will ever forget. Best of luck to you Ricardo, and make sure to check out these photos from our in-house photographer, Mellissa Moreno.
A couple weeks ago the Gallery hosted a Spring Benefit Concert for artist, Margaret Rose Medellin. Great turn out that night and all around good fun atmosphere. Here are a few photos from that night.
This past Saturday, the Gallery hosted a First Communion. While art exhibits have been the primary motivation for the Gallery in the past, I have grown to understand its importance as a social medium for Laredo. Its history-rich halls have been a great backdrop for the various events we've held here this year. Please enjoy these few photos from this weekend courtesy of our in-house photographers.
